We've lost count of how many women's co-ops and businesses we work with across the globe, but it's probably a few dozen plus four more we've added this month, including these lovely ladies.
The process to visit a co-op, form a relationship, place an order, be involved in the design and production process, get our order on their schedule and have the product up on our site can take months.
So what do we look for when we decide to work with an artisan or co-op? This might surprise you, but the first thing we ask for is whether or not they have What'sApp on their phone. It's our main way of communicating and collaborating with our artisans. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The second thing we look for is quality. And third we look at their existing catalog to find a design or color palette that is in line with our store aesthetic. We often give notes and customize our orders, but there has to be a base we can work with.
